Features & How-To

AI Features Guide
Deep Draft includes several AI-powered features: Script Outline: In the Scripts tab, tap a script and select "Generate Outline." The AI creates a structured outline based on your topic and any notes you provide. Hook Suggestions: In the Script Editor, tap "Hooks" to get 5 opening hook options tailored to your script. Script Improvement: Tap "Improve Script" to polish your writing while keeping your voice. Idea Synthesis: In the Ideas tab, tap "Synthesize" to find patterns across your ideas and get suggestions for combined video concepts. SEO Analysis: In Research → SEO, analyze a title/description or explore keywords for discoverability scores. Style Learning: In Settings → Style Learning, analyze past scripts so the AI matches your writing voice in future generations. All AI features use your configured API key (BYOK) if set, or your monthly credit balance otherwise.
Exporting Your Data
Deep Draft supports data export for revenue and expense records. To export revenue data: 1. Go to Manage → Revenue. 2. Tap the "Export CSV" button in the top-right corner. 3. A CSV file downloads with all your revenue entries and expenses for the current year. The CSV includes: date, type (revenue/expense), description, amount, category, and linked project. For other data (projects, scripts, ideas): bulk export is not yet available. Each screen has individual copy/share options. Full data export is on the roadmap. If you need your data for a specific purpose that the current export does not cover, describe your use case in a feature request.
Getting Started with Deep Draft
New to Deep Draft? Here is the fastest path to value: 1. Track a game — go to Create → Radar, search a game you cover, and tap Track. This powers your Season Radar and trending feeds. 2. Capture ideas — in Create → Ideas, add video ideas (with the game and a rating). They group by game. 3. Start a project — turn an idea into a project, or add one directly. Projects move through the pipeline: Concept → Research → Script → Record → Edit → Publish. 4. Write a script with AI — in Produce → Scripts, create a script and use "Generate Outline," then "Write Full Script." 5. Save your work — sign in with your email (magic link) so your data syncs across devices. The "Get started" checklist on your home screen tracks these first steps and checks them off as you complete them.
Subscription Plans
Deep Draft has two plans: Free plan (no credit card required): - 5 AI credits per month - Full pipeline, script editor, research hub - Basic cloud sync - 1 share link Premium plan ($12/month or $96/year): - Unlimited AI credits - Style Learning (voice matching) - Voice Preview (ElevenLabs TTS) - YouTube Analytics dashboard - Unlimited share links - Business tools (Revenue & Tax, FTC compliance) - Priority support All new accounts get a 14-day free trial of Premium automatically — no payment required. To upgrade, go to Settings → Subscription. You can also add your own API key (BYOK) on the Free plan to bypass the credit limit for AI features.
Tracking Games & Season Radar
Season Radar helps you plan timely content around the games you cover. To track a game: 1. Go to Create → Radar. 2. Search for the game and tap Track. Tracked games drive: - Season Radar: upcoming releases and events (DLC, expansions, seasons). - Trending and Top-Rated feeds, filtered to your tracked games and their genres. Use the "My genres / All games" toggle to widen the view. Adding events manually: Some games or DLC are not yet in the game database (RAWG). If a game or upcoming event does not appear automatically, add it by hand with "Add Event" so it still shows on your radar. If searching returns no results for a game you know exists, it may not be indexed in RAWG yet — add it as a manual event and it will appear alongside automatic ones.

Account & Billing

Canceling Your Subscription
To cancel your Deep Draft Premium subscription: If you subscribed through Stripe (web): 1. Go to Settings → Subscription. 2. Tap "Manage Subscription." This opens the Stripe billing portal. 3. Select "Cancel plan." 4. Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refund policy: We offer refunds within 7 days of initial purchase if you haven't used more than 10 AI credits. Contact support@deep-draft.com to request one. After cancellation you keep access to all your data. The app reverts to the Free plan at the end of your billing period.
Deleting Your Account & Data Privacy
To request deletion of your Deep Draft account and associated data, email support@deep-draft.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We will remove your account, synced projects/ideas/scripts, and personal data. Before you delete: - Export anything you want to keep. Revenue and expense records can be exported to CSV from Manage → Revenue. - Note that guest data (created before signing in) lives only in your browser and is not on our servers — clearing your browser removes it. Your API keys (if you added any) are stored only on your device, never on our servers, so they are removed when you clear the app or delete them in Settings → API Keys. For full details on what we store and how it is used, see our Privacy Policy at deep-draft.com/privacy.
How to Sign In
Deep Draft uses magic link sign-in — there is no password to remember. To sign in: 1. Go to the Deep Draft app and tap "Sign in with Email." 2. Enter your email address and tap "Send Magic Link." 3. Check your inbox (and spam/junk folder) for an email from no-reply@deep-draft.com. 4. Tap the link in the email. It opens the app and logs you in automatically. 5. The link expires after 10 minutes. If it expired, just request a new one. If you never receive the email, check your spam folder, then try a different email address. Some corporate email filters block magic links.
Managing AI Credits
AI credits power features like script outline generation, hook suggestions, script improvement, and SEO analysis. Free plan: 5 AI credits per month, reset on the 1st of each month. Premium plan: Unlimited AI credits. To check your remaining credits, go to Settings → Account. If you run out of credits before the month resets, you have two options: 1. Upgrade to Premium for unlimited credits. 2. Add your own API key (BYOK). Go to Settings → API Keys and add a Claude or Groq key. When your own key is configured, Deep Draft uses it instead of the monthly credit pool — no limit applies.
Setting Up Your API Key
Adding your own AI API key (BYOK) lets you bypass the monthly credit limit and use the AI model of your choice. Supported providers: Claude (Anthropic), Groq, OpenAI. To add a key: 1. Go to Settings → API Keys. 2. Select your provider (Claude, Groq, or OpenAI). 3. Paste your API key and tap "Save." 4. Tap "Test Key" to verify it works. Where to get keys: - Claude: console.anthropic.com - Groq: console.groq.com - OpenAI: platform.openai.com Once a key is saved, Deep Draft uses it for all AI operations automatically. Your key is stored securely on-device and never sent to Deep Draft servers.
Upgrading to Premium & Payment Issues
To upgrade to Premium: 1. Go to Settings → Subscription. 2. Tap "Upgrade to Premium" and choose monthly ($12/month) or annual ($96/year). 3. Complete checkout in the secure Stripe window. Your Premium access activates automatically once payment succeeds — usually within a few seconds. If your payment was declined: - Check the card number, expiry, and CVC, then try again. - Try a different card. Some banks block first-time online charges — a second attempt often clears. If you paid but Premium is not showing: 1. Wait a minute, then fully close and reopen the app. 2. Sign out and sign back in to refresh your account status. 3. If it still shows Free, contact support@deep-draft.com from the email on your account and mention the approximate time you paid. We can confirm the charge and fix your access.
Your 14-Day Free Trial
Every new Deep Draft account automatically starts a 14-day free trial of Premium — no credit card required. During the trial you get full Premium: unlimited AI, Style Learning, Voice Preview, YouTube Analytics, unlimited share links, and the business tools (Revenue & Tax, FTC compliance). To check your trial status, go to Settings → Subscription. It shows how many days remain. When the trial ends: - If you have not upgraded, your account reverts to the Free plan (5 AI credits per month). - You keep all of your data — nothing is deleted. - Premium-only features become locked until you upgrade. To keep Premium, upgrade any time from Settings → Subscription. You can also add your own API key (BYOK) on the Free plan to keep unlimited AI for the AI features.

Troubleshooting

AI Temporarily at Capacity or Busy
If an AI feature shows "AI is temporarily at capacity" or "AI service is busy," this is a temporary condition, not a problem with your account. What it means: - The shared AI service is briefly at its limit, or the provider is momentarily overloaded. - You were NOT charged a credit — a credit is only spent when a generation actually completes, and it is automatically refunded if the request could not be served. What to do: 1. Wait a minute and try again — these conditions usually clear quickly. 2. If you need AI to work right now without waiting, add your own API key (Settings → API Keys). With BYOK configured, your AI requests go directly to your provider and bypass the shared service entirely. If you see this message repeatedly over a long period, please submit a bug report so we can check the service.
API Key Not Working or Invalid
If "Test Key" fails, or AI errors while using your own API key (BYOK): 1. Remove any accidental spaces before or after the key when pasting. 2. Confirm the provider selector matches the key (a Claude key under Claude, a Groq key under Groq, etc.). 3. Make sure the key is active and the account has available credit or billing set up on the provider's side: - Claude: console.anthropic.com - Groq: console.groq.com - OpenAI: platform.openai.com 4. Generate a fresh key at the provider and paste the new one. Your key is stored securely on your device and is never sent to Deep Draft's servers, so we cannot see or recover it — if in doubt, delete it and re-add a new one. If the key tests fine at the provider but not in Deep Draft, submit a bug report with the provider name (never include the key itself).
Magic Link Email Not Received
If you did not receive your magic link email: 1. Check your spam or junk folder. Emails come from no-reply@deep-draft.com and are sometimes filtered. 2. Wait up to 2 minutes — email delivery can be delayed. 3. Make sure you entered the correct email address. Typos are the most common cause. 4. Request a new link. Magic links expire after 10 minutes, so if you waited, request a fresh one. 5. Try a different email address (Gmail, iCloud, etc.) to rule out corporate email filtering. 6. Add no-reply@deep-draft.com to your contacts or safe sender list to prevent future filtering. If you still cannot receive emails after trying the above, contact support@deep-draft.com from a different email address and we will help manually.

Fixes & Known Issues

App Feels Slow or Unresponsive
If Deep Draft feels slow, try these steps in order: 1. Refresh the page (Cmd+R on Mac, F5 on Windows/Linux) or close and reopen the app. 2. Clear your browser cache: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data. Select "Cached images and files." 3. Check your internet connection. AI features require a live connection and may pause if your connection is slow. 4. If a specific AI operation is slow (outline generation, etc.), it depends on the API provider's response time. Groq is generally faster than Claude for quick tasks. 5. If the app is stuck on a spinner, check the browser console for errors (F12 → Console) and include those details in your support report. If the issue persists after these steps, please submit a bug report with your browser type and version.
Data Disappeared or Not Syncing
If your projects, ideas, or scripts appear missing: First, check if you are signed in. Cloud sync only works when you are logged in with your Deep Draft account. Guest data is stored locally in the browser and does not sync across devices. To restore synced data: 1. Sign out and sign back in. This forces a fresh sync from Supabase. 2. Wait a few seconds for the sync to complete — a status indicator appears in Settings. If you use multiple browsers or devices: data syncs when you sign in. Changes made offline will sync the next time you are online. If your data was lost and you are signed in, please submit a bug report immediately with the approximate time it disappeared. We may be able to restore from backups.
